weight loss

I'm on a diet. I'm, what, one and a half stone overweight?

Thanks to the good people at Weightwatchers, I am shedding pounds.

OK so it's good to look as good as you can ... and I'll have less anxiety when trying on a new pair of trousers the next time I drop down to Blue Water ... but I'm doing it for another reason.

Yes, I'm losing weight to sell on the stock exchange. No that was a hilarious misdirection because the actual reason is dull.

Have you guessed what it is yet?

Yeah, GOUT. Effing out again.

Last week's annual leave was a fucking washout. I had double gout ... foot and knee both at the same time. "gout is the most painful form of arthritis" I've been told by many websites now ... so am glad I'm not just whinging too much. You start to doubt yourself and your reaction after a while.

there is too little and also too much information on the web about gout. I've taken a line through it though. One thing that several sites and leaflets suggest definitely is good is weight loss. So I'm shedding the extra flab to promote a less painful lifestyle.

What I don't quite understand is why it helps gout. Gout is a metabolic arthiritis. I get it because I have too much uric acid in my blood stream - average is 4.5 whereas my count is 5.4 apparently, whatever that meanhs, whatever units that's in.

So, I've lost 6 lbs in less than a week! Good, ya? Yes it's a man diet ... men only need to just take one teaspoon of sugar out of their tea and they fair fountain the fat away.

Am walking a bit better now. Bit wobbly and in pain but marked improvement since Monday, even.

Lost on telly tonight ... and Jamie's Italy thing ...

We osteo-arthritics are usually advised to limit our weight to spare the strain on the weight-bearing joints which results in damage and pain. I imagine it might be the same for gout?

Hi Damon, Sorry to hear about your trouble with the weight. I'm like Charles, I have to limit my weight to spare the joints on my weight bearing joints as I have mild osteoporosis. I'm glad you're walking better though!

Hope everything else is okay with you other than your weight trouble and the gout pronblem.

Hope you enjoyed my email!
Best Wishes

One of my mates is a bit of a hero down at my local weightwatcher after losing an amazing 13 stone!!!! Mind he was a big lad when he started some 26 and half stone. Don't lose that much cos you'll disappear.

Hope the regime helps sought out the pain a bit.

When a freind of mine wanted to get rid of a bit of weight, she was advised to drink at leas two liters (whatever that is in pint) of Apfelschorle. It is much better than plain water, because beside other useful things there is something in applejuice, which actually speeds up the fat burning process. Wasn't Apfelschorle your favourite drink anyway? Prost!

w1ld child, it should be working with apple juice as well, but Apfelschorle is a mixture of sparkling mineral water and applejuice, and therefore has less calories. It is very refreshing on a hot day or after exercises in the gym.

Doing OK on the diet. Still just under a stone and a half to lose tho. Hey apfelshorle a weight loss kit? Woah, let me go and stick the sparkling mineral water in the fridge ready for tomorrow ;)

Knee just not getting better ... foot still feeling pretty sore. Am thinking of going for some of those steroidal injections again. When will I mend! Stuffing cherries down my face too ... good for gout apparently. Oh and had my first satsuma in 25 years yesterday ... and now have had three. Woah. Get me.

Hey apfelsaft has rather a lot of sugar in it tho, no? Acording to my little weightwatchers book, half a pint is approx 2 points. apfelshorle for me has to be half a pint of apfelsaft and have a point of mineralwasser mit gas! That's quite a bit of sugar. Reckon one a day will do?

Glad to hear your news on the diet Damon! Where's some apfelschorle? I might try that with fruit too!

Damon, ever heard of diet apple juice? ;-)

Damon, plain applejuice, unsweetened, and soda water.

I know what apfelshorle is! Haven't heard of diet apple juice. Can't possibly exist and wouldn't be worth drinking if it did. Huh?

Not sure this diet is worth doing, I'm not really that overweight it's a desperate measure this.

Ehm....diet apple juice does exist! I don't know what that brand is called in England, but here it is known as one of the many Natren products. Well, it DOES taste a bit strange because of the saccharine they have added. But as my grandma used to say: if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't help!
Anyway, Charles suggestion is much better. Just take care the "apfelsaft" isn't sweeted. Libby's Juicy Juice is great.
This might be interesting, it is basically about keeping one's heart in good condition and might not seem very diet related to you, but the same stuff also does the fat burning job. Sorry... I have tried, but I do not know how to create proper working links, but here's the address: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1180175.stm

G'day Damon
I feel sorry for you having gout - I have it too. LatelyI don't drink beer, wine, coffee, black tea & I don't eat shellfish etc anyway. But for the last 4 days I have been drinking fresh apple juice from our own apples + water & eating apples & preseved small cherries - virtually nothing else. It seems that the gout is slowly, going away. The effect of this is that you lose weight - but some gout websites say that the gout will get worse as the uric acid comes out of the fat tissue.

With so many diet pills saturating the market today, trying to find the best and most effective diet pill can be very tedious. Chances are, we may end up choosing the wrong diet pill. Phentremine is a natural apetite suppressant and if you are the one who cannot control your cravings for food, then it is just the right medicine for you! http://www.phentermine-effects.com
